An interview on the curation of "Anatomy of Paradise", a group exhibition at Art Station in Auckland New Zealand:
"As Pacific Islanders the body is sometimes taboo. How does that fit in the modern world
where things are not so taboo anymore?
The exhibition is entitled “The Anatomy Of Paradise”, inspired by the title of a 1947 book. It was questioning at the time the way that Pacific Islanders were being portrayed in film, photography and writing.
So I wanted to put that question forward – that 65 years on with Pacific Islanders in control of their image, how has it changed?"
